Rumor has it this fly was recreated by the late great Rodney Flagg. (Flaggs Fly & Tackle Barre, MA) The story goes there was a guy from Minnesota moved to Rodney's area and said it was his favorite fly. He passed and Rodney kept tying them but didn't know the name of the fly. He named it for the month he happened to be tying it. It's a known Quabbin area favorite and other waters also. Rodney was well known for fishing & tying flies for more than 40 years. He was an experienced guide in the North Quabbin area, Millers or Deerfield rivers, and the Quabbin Reservoir which offer some of the finest fishing spots in New England.
